13!?

Amazingly few songbirds were caught this morning (13), but an Eastern Phoebe was nice, and a new species captured on the ridge for the fall.

Lincoln Sparrows are not uncommon, but are still one of my favorite sparrows we catch. They're just so CLEAN looking compared to the many song sparrows I've handled.

It was a fairly slow day for hawks too, so Dave, Frank and I took time to do some preliminary Saw-whet net set up, as it looks like we will be testing their migration sometime this week! Despite the slowness Frank did pull down an adult female harrier, possible the first I've seen in hand.
