Made it off the island

Off the island now, in Oakland, packing away, about to settle catan, sleep, then 12 hours of flying to HK with AG!

I will leave you with this Peregrine eaten gull

WEGU

This morning we woke up to the Western Gulls resuming their territories around the island. Jim and Liz counted around 7000 across the island, most of them evenly spaced by 5-10 feet, which I guess is about the size of their territories. This has only happened twice since I've been here and it seems to be pretty unpredictable what mornings they choose to head back to their little spots on the hill for a few hours.

Mice

If you've read anything about this island recently it was probably about mice. There are a lot here, they eat what they can and get themselves eaten as well, mostly by the burrowing owls, the raven, and gulls, but also by there fellow mouse.

Today we had a sharp-shinned hawk running loose, killing any songbird in sight along with this mouse
