Last week in Tortuguero

We're back to the land of interwebs and kiskadees. And thank god, finally leaving behind the atrocious birds of the Costa Rican mountains.

Invaded

Back in Tortuguero to find our world invaded by THE TURTLE PEOPLE. There are ten of them and they'll be doing sea turtle work here for the next few months, so hopefully we'll get to see some monstrous tortugas as well.

It was another successful trip to the mountains. As far as highlights: record numbers of birds (for us, here) were caught, a quetzal was seen, Fiery-throated Hummingbirds were drooled over and thai chicken pizza was made in the wood oven. What else good could have happened? More to come, but the 12 hours of travel have left me a sweaty, tired mess, goodnight.
