Kowloon Park and the Peak

We went up to the peak last night for dinner, and though it wasn't too clear, it's a nice view of the bright city.

Today we went to check out Kowloon Park for birds. There were a lot of people, the usual bird suspects, and we saw our first Rose-ringed Parakeets!

There was also another aviary and a bunch of flamingos and non-native clipped-winged waterfowl, which were pretty, obviously.

Hong Kong Park

For our first full day in HK we went to Tai Koo for sushi to meet Amanda's friend Audrey and to check out her All Time Favorite Store, Muji, it has it all, including Pretzel Puzzle Owl, and Penguin Skittles, you'll never guess what those are. Then to Mong Kok to find me some half-decent shoes, and that they are.

Before it got dark we did manage to make our way to Hong Kong Park, a fairly large area with some water, trees, flowers and an aviary. By the time we navigated our way there the aviary was closed, but we'll be back, and there were plenty of others around.

These seemed to be of the more common variety:

About 30 our so Sulphur-crested Cockatoos
