Mai Po marsh was great yesterday. Amanda, her parents and I had signed up for a guided tour, which lead us past the restricted areas and through floating mangrove platforms to blinds overlooking the mudflats. Though the guide was not too focused on pointing out birds to us (as much of the rest of the group was more there just to walk around outside it seemed) we saw around 50 species and surely missed others. I took a lot of pictures, many of which did not turn out, but here were two of my favorites.
Pied Avocet
Common Kingfisher
Bro. These are fully legit. I remember these birds. So sick. I hope you got to see the Pied Kingfisher too?
